moonshot runs its validator services on 3 geographically separated dedicated servers utilizing Strangelove Ventures Horcrux for increased key security and high availability via multi-party-computation (MPC).  This is achieved by splitting the validator signing key into separate shards which require 2 of the 3 pieces to complete the signing.  The entire key isn’t available on a single server unlike the default plain text json key.  This setup allows up to 2 sentry nodes and 1 remote signer to go down and still successfully sign blocks maintaining near 100% uptime.

A fourth independent dedicated server runs 24/7 monitoring scripts with elevating alert methods; info/minor – Telegram, major – do-not-disturb and sleep notification bypassing phone call.
